The many memories of Pujya Dr Kaka bring back the most pleasant, warm, noble, loving thoughts of indeed the most genuine human being that has ever touched my life. His enigmatic personality, his generous heart, his kind and gentle ways flood my heart with memories of going to Ahmedabad on short trips when I would run to him for his big warm hug after months of not seeing him. A trip to the general store where he would take me to get whatever I wanted just because I was visiting was a ritual—sitting with him for lunch at the coolest almost triangular shaped dining table ever in Haribhakti house, sitting with the family in the covered porch at the front of the house on the rocking chairs. ahhh heartwarming. I would never have had the experience of being part of a political campaign if it weren’t for my dear Dr Kaka. I remember us on an open truck going through the city chanting “Dr Jayant Haribhakti nej vote apjo” through a microphone. Gosh is there anything he didn’t do???
Having him visit in Mumbai was always a treat and I’ll never forget how he loved sitting at the balcony ledge with us. He always gave me a talking to about how many friends I was distracted by and how I shouldn’t worry my dear, dear mummy!!!!
Seeing the love and respect for him has been a life lesson; his serenity and pure heart has left a mark on my life. One to aspire for. He left us as an example of who we should try to be, lead our family to practice values that will always keep us bound together, and he left us with vivid memories we can rekindle as we talk about him any time.
I feel blessed to call him my Dr Kaka and my love and
