For my loving Grandfather..fondly called as Babubhaidada. The legend of our family Dr.Jayant Haribhakti.
You would have been the first one to hold me in your arms the day I was born and surely that thrill, attachment and love from day one till 17th January 1989 was felt each day with your presence around me.
I was so close to you that each day from my school I would come and visit you. I used to sleep at night with you and remember taking chocolates from your cupboard at night. I was so fond of you and Chandaba that as a small girl I remember getting dropped from
Udgam School to Haribhakti House. You always took so much care for us from all our toys, to ride on, getting sandpit slides and swings made for us. Remember all our outings with you to Udaipur and Shreenathji staying at Anandbhavan hotel and all privileges given to Doctor Saheb at Nathdwara temple. Babubhaidada took us to Kankaria Zoo and the head Mr.Rubin David personally used to come with us. I remember as a child going with you everywhere and people looked up to so much dignity to you. Babubhaidada from his such busy schedule took us to Dr.Somakaka( our pediatrician)with him by the side never felt we were going
to a Doctor’s place. I used to go to Surat with him to stay at his friend’s house Dhirukaka and remember how much shopping Babubhaidada made us do. I was in 3rd standard and I fell while playing. Mom called Babubhaidada and he came immediately and took me to Dr.Banker( orthopedic doctor)and I still remember how much he cared for me. It was and still is a proud feeling always to be called the granddaughter of Dr.JBH.Today also where ever we go people remember Babubhaidada fondly and it brings tears of happiness in eyes that so much he is loved by people and so many lives he has touched. This is a true inspiration
for me.
The most crucial learning lesson from his life was his warmth. He welcomed each and everyone as open-door policy and did every possible thing for that person with the utmost affection. Moreover, being such a successful surgeon, he had no attitude and have seen him personally take care of all helpers, patients, his hospital staff and also his colleagues.
He used to take care of the comfort of every family member personally.
He was a mentor to many families and people looked upon him for his advice.
Another lesson is of tremendous hard work he did. I remember him taking 15 pills a day and still working vigorously with a very balanced social life. So for me, I would take his life as lessons for every day living and balancing with everyone.
Memories with Babubhaidada are like beautiful episodes of life. I still remember the last uttaryan 14th January I stayed with him for two night. On 16th January he was admitted to CL hospital and I went to see him. I saw the hustle and bustle of all doctors to save him. I was so attached to him that when he died, no one told me. My dadaji and dadima were scared of telling me. I was finding things fishy from their side, so I took the newspaper and opened it and news about his death were on the first page. I was shocked and shattered. I was in 9th standard. The impact of his life and the way people came to pay tributes to him was overwhelming. I have never seen a person getting so much respect credit and love for the values of his life, his excellence in his profession, the empathetic human being he was and a bond for the entire family he shared. He has selflessly given all his life. He has performed his duties to the fullest with each and everyone which is rare.
Today it has been 30 years and though he is physically not with us his life is a constant source of inspiration to me. I wish to God that I walk and follow his principles.
For Dipali and me Babubhaidada and Chandradadi have showered so much love and thank God enough to have them as our fondest grandparents. We both love you so much.
I am sure his blessings are on me, Sujay and Aaman. He is happy seeing Aaman grow and his gentle hand is always there.
My parents Kanan and Smitin are blessed to have him as a Father and his noble acts are priceless and today we surely see his rewards as blessings on us.
Shraddhanjali and purest divine prayers for the icon and legend of our
Hearts-Babubhaidada.
One hundred years are just numbers we are celebrating your memories and life for the generations to come. You will be our inspiration always.
